Wednesday, November 10, 2010, Check-In

Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I'm sick AGAIN, and can barely swallow, but I walked my dog yesterday. Totally counts.

Say, a shout-out to everybody on this comm. You guys are really inspiring, really motivating, and I value the comm. It's good, really really good, to have a place that accepts and cheers on all levels of exercise and fitness achievements, and a place to talk about it that does NOT equate fitness with weight loss automatically, yet is supportive of people's goals in that direction.

TL/DR, you guys are great.

Easy morning, the two Yoga parts of Dance the Chakras. Just a morning stretch-out mostly but I like the integrated breath work and meditation. I've been using this dvd since early 2008, and have been laughing to myself, thinking about when I used to do the full workout and then have to follow it every time with tylenol and a hot bath! My thighs ached so afterwards. Yay, progress!

Every Sunday morning! Our water bill went through the roof. :)

I think that's going to be one of the unforgettable moments in my life, when I pushed off and actually achieved liftoff. \o/

My shoulders are still sore, but weight training was planned for tomorrow anyway.

Anyway, I am proud of myself. I did the same running program as Sunday (500m run, 250m walk, 500m run, 250m walk, 500m run = 1,500m run, 500m walk), but this time I did it after 9 hours of work, in the dark, while it was raining and the ground was wet, as opposed to after 10 hours of sleep, a nice breakfast and in nice weather. I had my boyfriend with me and so started too fast and had to fight that whole last round, but I did it.

It was certainly helping with the pushing - though I must add it was also sort of dicouraging to see my boyfriend, who hasnt really trained in 3 years, just run 1 kilometer, at a higher speed than I can do 500 meters.

Morning yoga, hour and twenty minutes walk (it was a beautiful day, which I wanted to take advantage of as they're rare at this time of year), and a Yoga Journal podcast in the evening.

Yoga first thing this morning, even though I had to wake up an hour earlier than usual to fit it in!

Sorry to hear you are sick! And I have to second your comments about this comm. Even though I don't interact much, the regular posts and comments are so encouraging and a truly positive force.
