Personally, I've found it's important for me to have a rest day at least once a week (for values of "rest" including easy yoga), or I can push myself too much and then crash and not do anything for weeks.
The rest day will often shuffle around the week to fit around my life (so if I get a migraine and can't exercise, or I have a super-busy day and don't have time, I'll count that as my rest day for the week). But it's good to have it there, physically and psychologically.
