CK on January 11 and 12

Yesterday - was feeling very low energy. Decided there should be rest day.

Today - Janet Stone: Ananda Vinyasa. Very sluggish today, but I persevered. OMG, could NOT do Crescent Lunge on my right leg in the first sequence using it. Bodies are weird. Completely flailing on one day, steady as stone the next. Or even completely flailing on one SIDE, perfectly calm on the other! Anyway, recovered in the second sequence, so thinking somehow my alignment got off in the first one and I fixed it in the second.

Introduction

Hi! I'm new here. Well, I've been lurking for a while, but I figured it's about time I introduced myself and my exercise and start tracking what I do.

I'm a dancer, mostly I do Ballroom and Latin, but I've recently starting doing a bit of Blues as well. In a perfect world, I would be both competing and training hard for those competitions, but I'm without a competition partner right now so it's just regular training for me - it's not ideal but it's better than nothing.

I also try and swim 3 mornings a week before work. I was really good last year, then I screwed up my knee (too much vigorous breaststroke without warming up properly I think) so I haven't swum for two months now. Getting back into it is going to be tough (I hate early mornings, though it's always worth it once I'm at the pool), but I do want to swim again.

Occasionally - very occasionally - I run. Usually only late spring through early autumn. I'm very Goldilocks about it: it's too hot or too cold or too windy or it's raining.... This is why I swim, I can't make so many excuses ;)

I dance because I love it and I couldn't live without it - any fitness benefits are purely coincidental! I swim because I want to tone up and get a bit fitter, though losing a few kilos wouldn't hurt either :)
